Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE) made a major India leadership change with the appointment of Bhawna Agarwal as Senior Vice President and Managing Director. The move is in keeping with the larger HPE plan for a stronger presence in India, a strategic market for HPE’s global growth strategy. Bhawna Agarwal brings with her strong leadership capabilities and technical expertise to drive HPE operations in India for future growth.
Mid-2023 witnessed HPE roll out a large “Make in India” initiative with VVDN Technologies to produce high-volume servers locally in the country. The program showcases the company’s desire not only to match growth in demand from Indian customers but also enhance supply chain resilience through having local manufacturing capability. The Manesar, Haryana-based plant was built quickly and today runs with focus on automation as well as quality control.
Aside from manufacturing, HPE has also long had a desire for India with a $500 million investment plan unveiled in 2019 to include 20% additional company employees, supporting research and development and spending on community technology programs. This full-scale investment aligns with HPE’s desire to adopt innovation and digital transformation in the country.
Bhawna Agarwal’s leadership will accelerate HPE’s India strategy ahead even further with her capacity to build market presence, accelerate innovation and sustain the country’s vibrant tech ecosystem.
