Background-
IT services major HCLTech will bring Zagreb-based Robotiq.ai into its software business, paying 9 million euros in cash, or about Rs 98 crore, for the robotic process automation (RPA) platform provider.
HCLSoftware, the group’s product division, will lead the purchase. HCL Technologies Austria GmbH, a fully owned subsidiary of HCLTech, will buy every outstanding share of Robotiq.ai, the company said in a filing. The deal is expected to close in the coming months.
HCLTech said customers increasingly want AI systems that can think through a problem and then carry out the work dependably inside intricate enterprise setups. Robotiq.ai’s RPA tools will let AI-led workflows handle tasks even in applications that offer limited or no API access.
Darko Jovisic, CEO and co-founder of Robotiq.ai, said his team designed the platform to be practical, quick to roll out and steady in live use. He said the move to HCLSoftware brings the technology wider reach and scale, and lets customers fold automation into managed, enterprise-wide processes.
Robotiq.ai, headquartered in Zagreb, serves banks, insurers and telecom operators with enterprise-grade automation. Its revenue climbed to 1.4 million euros in its latest fiscal year, up from 0.9 million euros in each of the two years before.
The purchase adds enterprise-grade RPA to HCLSoftware’s lineup as businesses push AI to move beyond answering questions and finish real work across daily operations. That gives HCLSoftware a way to serve enterprises seeking AI that can both reason and act reliably.
