Background

Renault India has launched the facelifted version of its popular compact SUV, the Kiger, with prices starting at ₹6.29 lakh and going up to ₹11.29 lakh (ex-showroom). This is an increment of 14,000 in comparison to the previous start price of 6.15 lakhs.

The 2025 Renault Kiger facelift will be available in four trims—Authentic, Evolution, Techno, and Emotion. The updated model gets several cosmetic and safety upgrades, while the powertrain lineup remains unchanged.

The facelifted Kiger will be provided with a revised front grille, the new logo of Renault in the middle, and a new bumper with a bigger air intake. There is also LED fog lamps, LED tri-pod shaped headlamps with narrow DRLs, dual-tone roof options, side door decals, turbo marker, and new 16-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels. The back also gets an LED tail lamp as well as metallic skid plates.

The cabin layout has not changed, but Renault included a two-tone black finish with the light grey colour as a finishing touch. The SUV is now offered with an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system with a wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay and a wireless charger, auto head and wipers, and a 360-degree camera.

On the safety side, Renault has equipped all its trims with 6 airbags; however, it offers such safety features as an electronic program of stability (ESP), tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS), hill-start assist, etc.

Mechanically, the Kiger still has two gasoline engine options, including a 1.0-liter naturally aspirated gas engine that makes 72 PS and 96 Nm and is available in 5-speed manual or automatic transmission modes, and a 1.0-liter forced-induction gas engine whose output is 100 PS and 160 Nm, with a choice of two 5-speed manual or CVT, automatic.

This update is expected to make the Kiger more attractive in India, where compact SUVs are a very competitive segment by increasing style, safety, and affordability.
