Key Background

India’s top food ordering platform, Swiggy, has formally entered the professional services sector with the introduction of a new AI-driven platform called Pyng. Aimed at serving as a bridge between users and verified service providers in numerous categories, Pyng represents Swiggy’s larger mission to become an integral part of users’ daily lives beyond ordering food.

Now available in Bengaluru only, the app comes with both Android and iOS versions. Pyng uses artificial intelligence to suggest appropriate professionals as per user requirements. The experts range across more than 100 specializations including yoga teachers, makeup artists, tax planners, DJs, fitness trainers, career consultants, and many others in categories including wellness, finance, education, travel, and events.

One of the standout features of Pyng is its intelligent AI assistant, which assists users in searching for professionals by understanding their queries and making instant suggestions. Every professional also has an AI assistant that can respond to questions and give service information prior to any booking confirmation. This is intended to enhance user confidence and transparency in the hiring process. Pyng also introduces a refund policy, guaranteeing users quality and accountability.

Swiggy co-founder Nandan Reddy highlighted that Pyng has been created to cater to the growing need for trustworthy professional help in contemporary personal and work life. The app started off with over 1,000 professionals already on board and aims to double the number to over 10,000 in the next few months.

Swiggy previously experimented with a seller iteration of Pyng, and this consumer-oriented launch is a serious departure from the previous path. By doing this, Swiggy positions itself as not just a food delivery app—it’s now positioning itself to become a full-stack urban convenience platform.

By bridging AI, emphasizing service quality, and being aimed at trust-based transactions, Swiggy is setting the building blocks for Pyng to be a go-to place for users to access a variety of local services.Â
