Background-
Samsung India has elevated Shirish Agarwal as Head of Marketing for its MX business in India. The move strengthens the leadership team of the company’s mobile experience division, which handles smartphones and connected devices in the country.
Based in Gurugram, Agarwal will oversee marketing strategy, brand communication and consumer campaigns for the business. The appointment comes as smartphone brands continue to increase focus on customer engagement and premium product categories in India.
Before this elevation, Agarwal worked as Director of Marketing at Samsung India from August 2023 to May 2026. He has been associated with the company for more than 12 years in different marketing and leadership roles.
Agarwal joined Samsung India in September 2009 as Deputy General Manager for Marketing. After spending nearly a decade with the company, he moved to Panasonic India in 2019 and looked after marketing communication and brand functions there until 2023.
He later returned to Samsung India in a senior leadership role and continued to work on brand strategy and marketing initiatives for the company’s mobile business.
Apart from Samsung and Panasonic, Agarwal has also worked with HP in its Imaging and Printing Group as a Marcom Specialist. Earlier in his career, he worked with Times Internet as a product manager and with Cyber Media as an assistant manager.
Agarwal completed an MBA in Marketing from Sungkyunkwan University through the Samsung Global Scholarship Program. He also holds an MBA in Advertising and Communication from EMPI Business School.
Industry watchers see the latest appointment as part of Samsung India’s continued focus on strengthening its brand and market presence in the country’s smartphone segment.
