The Indian Institute of Management Bangalore has climbed seven places to reach 21st position in the Financial Times Masters in Management 2026 ranking, the only Indian school to feature in the global top 25. It retains its position as India’s top-ranked business school, according to the institute.
The two-year full-time Post Graduate Programme in Management continues to drive the school’s global standing. IIM Bangalore posted gains across several career metrics this year.
Career Progress rank has moved to 69 from 90, and Careers Service rank now stands at eighth, up from 11th. Weighted Salary score climbed too, reflecting improved outcomes for graduates.
The Alumni Network rank jumped to 19th globally from 31st, and the Value for Money rank advanced to 65th from 78th. Diversity and sustainability indicators showed similar progress, with women’s representation on the board rising to 44% from 40%. The ESG Net Zero Teaching rank improved to 74th from 86th.
Prof U Dinesh Kumar, Director-in-charge of IIM Bangalore, said the rankings reflect the transformational value of an IIM Bangalore education and the global impact of its graduates.
The FT ranking evaluates business schools on 19 criteria, weighting alumni feedback at 56% and school data at 44%, covering employment, return on investment, diversity, ESG and internationalization.
IIM Bangalore shares the 21st spot with WU Vienna University of Economics and Business. St Gallen University tops the list, followed by Nova School of Business and Economics and Shanghai Jiao Tong University’s Antai College.
